The Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens is one of our favorite Orlando hidden gems. It's a fun and quaint place to visit with our family that isn't super crazy to visit. One of our favorite events they have yearly is the The Asian Lantern Festival!
The Asian Lantern Festival at The Central Florida Zoo is a captivating and enchanting event that brings a splash of color and cultural richness to the heart of Florida. This festival transforms the zoo into a magical wonderland, offering visitors a unique experience of art, culture, and wildlife. Whether you're a local resident or a visitor, this event is sure to leave you mesmerized.
A Dazzling Display
The festival features a stunning display of over 30 larger-than-life illuminated lanterns, crafted by skilled artisans. These lanterns depict a variety of themes, from mythical creatures and wildlife to scenes of Chinese folklore and traditions. Each lantern is intricately designed, showcasing a vibrant array of colors and intricate patterns that light up the night sky.
Family-Friendly Activities
This festival is perfect for families, offering a variety of activities that cater to all ages. Children can engage in interactive experiences that provide an educational aspect to the festival, allowing young visitors to learn about different cultures in a fun and engaging way. There is also speciality event nights where you can catch a DJ for fun dance parties or even Santa himself will be making an appearance.
Culinary Delights
No festival is complete without a taste of delicious food. The Asian Lantern Festival features an array of food offering authentic Asian cuisine. From savory fried rice and egg rolls to sweet treats like boba tea, there's something to satisfy every palate. Plus they have holiday classics like Hot Cocoa for those colder event evenings to keep you warm. This culinary journey complements the visual and cultural feast, making the event a holistic experience.
The Asian Lantern Festival at The Central Florida Zoo is more than just an event; it's an experience that brings together art, culture, and community. The event is running select nights through January 19th, 2025 leaving plenty of time for you to visit. Tickets start at $24.99 for ages 3 and up or grab the Family Pack for $80! I highly recommend purchasing tickets in advance for this event. Also, be prepared to walk as this is about 3/4 trek through the zoo.
Whether you're looking to be dazzled by the lantern displays or indulge in delicious food, the festival offers something for everyone. Don't miss the chance to be part of this magical celebration.
Until our next expedition.......
